Spring Beauty.. Claytonia virginica. Some
of these bloomed all winter long this year.

square stem, opposite leaves, and bilabiate flowers lets you know that these are
in the mint family along with Henbit.

Buttercup.. Ranunculus sp. Most
of this beauties neighbors just had 5 petals.
White
Bluets .. Hedyotis australis

These were blooming March 7, 2000 on a river bank near Searcy,
AR
Bloodroot .. Sanguinaria canadensis .. These
beauties don't last long but they are an awesome site whether alone or in a
colony.
Pale Corydalis .. Corydalis flavula
Palmer's Saxifrage .. Saxifrage palmeri It's
really amazing how these can thrive in just about any tiny rock crevice.
Toothwort .. Dentaria laciniata
Dutchman's Breeches .. Dicentra cucullaria Unusual
to say the least. Could the shape be related to the pollinators?
